Tour Itinerary

Day 01: Delhi (Sunday)

LalQuilaDelhiDeparture at 1830 Hrs - Your arrival in the Safdarjung Railway Station will be marked with a traditional welcome. The staff of the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels will offer you garlands, tikka (vermillion mark), and turban with a glass of wine.
Later you will be ushered to your cabins, your home for the next 8 days! Dinner and overnight stay in the luxury train cabin.

 

Day 02: Jodhpur (Monday)

JodhpurArrival at 0600 hours/Departure at 1600 hours - In the morning of the 2nd day, the guests aboard the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels will arrive at Jodhpur. Post - breakfast on board, you will be taken on a sightseeing sojourn across the city that is renowned as the 'Blue city of India'. Jodhpur was founded by Rao Jodha, a Rajput king, in 1459 and is the second largest city in Rajasthan. With a fleet of stunning forts & palaces the timeless visit of Jodhpur will surely remain vibrant in your hearts for long. Attractions that you will visit in this city include Mehrangarh Fort, the Jaswant Thada, and the lavish Umaid Bhawan Palace. Later, you will also visit the local markets that are mostly visited for its tie and dye products. A sumptuous lunch will be served in the palace itself.
The luxury train will travel to the next destination, Udaipur, at 1600 hours. Dinner and overnight stay in the train.

Day 03: Udaipur / Chittorgarh (Tuesday)

Udaipur - Arrival at 0600 hours/ Departure at 1500 hours
Chittorgarh - Arrival at 16:30 hrs/ Departure at 2300 hrs

UdaipurUdaipur, known as the city of lakes, is named after its founder Maharana Udai Singh. The city is mostly known for its stately palaces and well manicured gardens that dot it completely. The Lake Pichola, one of the most significant features of the state, adds constant beauty to Udaipur.
Prime attractions that you will visit here are the Jag Niwas Palace, the City Palace complex, Sahelion ki baari, Jagdish temple, and the pristine lake Palace.

A sumptuous lunch will be served for you at a palace resort. Wind up the day with a cruise on the Lake Pichola while you will travel down to the Jag Mandir Palace. This palace covers almost four acres and is known for its marble pavilion and an impressive dome. Royal Rajasthan on Wheels will depart for Chittorgarh at 1500 hrs. In about an hour and a half the train will reach the fortified city of Chittorgarh. Earlier known as Chitrakut, Chittoragarh houses a number of medieval forts and palaces such as the Rana Kumbha Palace, Padmini's Palace, and the Fateh Prakash Palace. This palace has now been converted into a museum that houses a rich collection of sculptures from temples and buildings within the Fort. Dinner and overnight stay on board the train.
The train will now travel to the wilderness of Sawai Madhopur.

Day 04 : Sawai Madhopur / Jaipur (Wednesday)

Sawai Madhopur - Arrive at 0500 hrs/ Depart at 1000 hrs
Jaipur - Arrive at 1200 hrs/ Depart at 2300 hrs

Sawai Madhopur WIld lifeSoon after your arrival in Sawai Madhopur you will be taken to a jungle lodge where you will be served a delectable breakfast. The cool morning breeze and lip smacking food will refresh your senses. Later you will be taken to visit the Ranthambhore National Park that is famous world over for its tigers. One of the most popular national parks in India, Ranthambore National Park is spread over an area of 1,334 sq km. Once a hunting ground of the Maharajas of Jaipur, Ranthambore national park is today one of the best locations for tiger lovers.

Once you have explored the beauty of Ranthambore, you will return to the luxury Indian train to travel down to Jaipur, the next destination.By mid-day you will arrive in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. Lunch will be served for you aboard the train. For the remaining part of the day, you will visit the spectacular attractions of Jaipur.

Owing to the color of stone used on the walls of the buildings in this city, Jaipur is also known as the Pink city of India. Some pf the most celebrated palaces and forts and historically significant monuments of the country are located in this city. A trip across this city will definitely facilitates the guests aboard the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels to feast on the grandeur and opulence of India. Some of the must-visit attractions of the city include the Amer fort, a massive fort located just a few km off Jaipur, the Hawa Mahal that has been nick named the palace of winds, the City Palace famous for its well appointed gardens and a gorgeously decorated courtyard. Guests will also travel to Jantar Mantar, the royal observatory and the vibrant markets of Jaipur that sell excellent handicraft items. In the evening you will return to the train for some moments of relaxation before you will head towards the beautiful Jai Mahal Palace where a cultural extravaganza and a splendid dinner experience wait your arrival. The train will chug its way out of Rajasthan and in to Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh by 2330 hours.

Day 05: Thursday Khajuraho

KhajurahoArrive at 0600 hrs/ Depart at 1700 hrs - The luxury train will reach Khajuraho early in the morning of the 5th day of the sojourn. Post- breakfast the guests will be taken around town to visit the medieval temples and architectural wonders that are housed here. Famous for its Hindu & Jain temples that date back to the 9th century, Khajuraho is surely an evidence of architectural intelligence. The Khajuraho group of monuments has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The sculptures and carvings on the walls of the temples depict passion, eroticism, dance and music and celebrate arts.
Lunch will be served for you in a five star hotel. In the evening at about 1700 hours, the India luxury train will depart for Varanasi. Dinner and overnight stay on board the train.

Day 06: Varanasi (Friday)

Varanasi GhatArrive at 0600 hrs/ Depart at 1800 hrs - Royal Rajasthan on Wheels will arrive in the holy city of Varanasi at 0600 hrs on the 6th day of the journey. Breakfast will be served on board. Varanasi said to be the India's most sacred city nestled cozily on the western bank of the holy river Ganga. It is also the oldest living city in the world.

A trip across Varanasi will include visiting Sarnath - the place where Buddha gave his first sermon, the bathing ghats of River Ganges, the Tulsi Manas Temple, Alamgir Temple, and the Bharat Mata Temple. A river cruise along the banks of the river will allow you to capture the real beauty of the city in your hearts forever. Lunch will be served in a luxury city hotel.
Once you return to Royal Rajasthan on Wheels, the train will then proceed towards the final destination in the circuit, Agra.Dinner and overnight stay aboard the train.

Day 07: Agra (Saturday)

Taj Mahal AgraArrive at 0400 hrs/ depart at 2300 hrs - Early morning on the 7th day, the train will halt at Agra, the land of the Taj Mahal. Located on the banks of the river Yamuna, Agra was established in 1504 by the then ruler of Delhi, Sultan Sikandar Lodi. It was later a very important seat of the Mughal Empire. Attractions such as the Agra Fort, the Taj Mahal and Itmad -ud - daullah's tomb glorify the architectural brilliance of the Mughal era.

Relish a lavish lunch served to you in a 5 star hotel in town. Later, you will be taken on a grand visit to the Taj Mahal. Built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, Taj mahal has often been described as poetry in white marble. Till today, the Taj Mahal continues to be the epitome of love and romance. While here, you can also enjoy shopping in the Agra markets. Precious stones, marble and other jewelry items from here are excellent souvenir items to carry home.
The train will resume its journey back to Delhi at about 2300 hours to mark the end of the sojourn. Dinner and overnight stay in the train.

Day 08: Delhi (Sunday )

Arrive at 0700 hours - After completing a week-long journey aboard the luxury train, Royal Rajasthan on Wheels will arrive at the Safdarjung Railway Station, early morning on the 8th day. Post- breakfast you can checkout and continue with your onward journey home. A ceremonial farewell will be given by the staff to all guests aboard the Royal rajasthan on Wheels.
